Due to technology available only in the USA we are able to knit the fabric tighter: the tighter the weave the better a garment wears and the lighter it feels even when using 6 oz goods. We also have the technology to knit our cotton into tubular goods. With tubular goods you do not have to sew the front of the shirt to the back, thus there are no side seams.
You can buy pocket tees cheaper, but hold those shirts up to a light source and see if you cannot see light coming through, now how long do you think that shirt is going to last? You can buy tees that feel "better" or "thicker" new, but you have to realize that they feel that way because the yarn is not knitted as tight as ours is. These shirts will very quickly develop holes and come apart at the seams as the weave unravels from washing.
